Zainab Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja

Zainab Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja is a Bahraini human rights activist, and a participant in the Bahraini uprising. She rose to prominence after posting tweets online about the protests as well as for protesting her father Abdulhadi Alkhawaja's detention during his hunger strike. Due to relentless activism on the front lines, she has been targeted many times; arrested, imprisoned and has had over a dozen cases against her in court all related to freedom of expression and her participation in protests. She continued protesting and was arrested again.
