A claim that all of the U.S.’ major intelligence agencies had agreed that Russia interfered in last year’s election has been proven false. The claim has been the centerpiece of news coverage of “Russiagate,” indicating that much of what has been reported about the scandal has been flawed.

The New York Times Finally Retracts Russia-Gate Canard

On Thursday, the Times – while leaving most of Haberman’s ridicule of Trump in place – noted in a correction that the relevant intelligence “assessment was made by four intelligence agencies — the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Agency.
