Iran releases the shocking claim that it killed 200 US Soldiers in its strikes on bases in Jordan alone, provoking a denial from CENTCOM and threats to use the Mother Of All Bomb (MOAB)’s against the Islamic Republic. In the latest episode of The Target, MintPress News’ Robert Inlakesh looks at the escalatory measures being implemented across West Asia and Israel’s threats to carry out another attack on Tehran.

The Israelis have raised their level of alert, alleging that Iran and its allies are preparing a potential surprise attack prior to Tel Aviv’s national elections later this month. Raising the stakes, Iranian military assets appear to have been deployed towards their Western borders and ongoing missile drills have shocked Washington-based analysts at the rapid replenishment of their munition stockpiles.

Mohammad Reza Naqdi, a senior official in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) publicly claimed that sources belonging to Jordan’s Red Crescent informed Tehran that at least 200 American soldiers had been killed as a result of attacks on US bases inside the country. US Central Command, which has been silent about casualty claims in the past, were even encouraged to post on social media a brief message pushing back against the allegation. The report may have hit a nerve, especially following revelatory leaks of casualty coverups in the corporate media over the past months.

The Iranian strategy in the Strait of Hormuz appears to have also developed, as the IRGC’s Navy are now sinking ships and have been demonstrating that the key international shipping route has been covered in mines. US President Donald Trump previously bragged about demining the Strait.

Meanwhile, Saudi oil infrastructure continues to take heavy hits across the nation, following the continuous waves of ballistic missiles and drones fired from Yemen. One of these operations conducted by the missile units of Yemen’s Armed Forces managed to cause significant damage to Saudi ARAMCO’s headquarters – located in the Dhahran area of the country’s east coast.

On the ground the war in Yemen rages on, with the Ansarallah-led government in Sana’a managing to secure over 20 strategic positions across the southern Taiz Province. Their armed forces additionally continue to take over more portions of Taiz City, the second largest in the country.

Inlakesh reviews the latest battle-footage from the Taiz and Bab al-Mandeb fronts, while looking at the broader framing of the issue and the implications of the ongoing development on the battle-field.

In this edition of The Target, we also look at the latest revelation that Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara’a engaged in a direct phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We discuss the historical context behind the moves we see today, how this impacts the fate of Israel’s expansionist endeavours and the blow being dealt to US imperialism.
